JUNIOR VARSITY 2019 RULES
There have been many rules changes in 2019. We hope that your coach has gone over the majority of them with you. The RGVGCA has added a few mandatory rules to be followed.
The following rules will be followed in all 2019 RGVGCA tournaments:
1 - there is a TRIPLE BOGEY limit on each hole
2 - when taking a drop with or without penalty, a player will place
the ball knee high and drop.
3 - once a player putts his/her first putt on a hole, he/she MUST
continue putting until he/she finishes the hole or reaches the
max score for that hole.
4 - for pace of play purposes, a player MUST putt with the pin in
the cup (a player DOES NOT have the option to remove the
pin at anytime).
5 - a player MUST finish their round within 5 and a half hours
from the start of play. If a player fails to finish their round
within the 5 and a half hours, a max score for the remaining
holes will be posted for each unplayed hole.
6 - any ball accidently moved on a putting green or during a
search will be replaced as close as possible to the original
position with no penalty stroke.
7 - a player may only search for a lost ball for 3 minutes. If the
ball is not found within 3 minutes, the player will proceed to
play under Local Rule E-5. (Alternative to Stroke and Distance)
8 - if a ball in motion hits you or your equipment, no stroke
penalty will be assessed.
9 - loose impediments may be removed out of a sand trap without
penalty, but a player MUST NOT touch the sand with their
club except in their downswing in their attempt to hit the ball.
A 2 stroke penalty will be assessed to a player grounding
their club in a sand trap.
